Hi Jonathon,Not sure whether this is what caused it to appear to work or notbut try copying the tpinstall.exe from the 32bit or the 64bit folder( depending on your Windows 10 version ) to the folderC:WindowsSystem32When I click on NETWORK ADAPTORSin DEVICE MANAGERI now see TAP-Windows Adaptor V9after the following commandtapinstall install OemWin2k.inf TAP0901but I had to do it in full like this>>tapinstall C:UsersJohnDownloadstap-driver-32_64tap-driver-32_6464-bitOemWin2k.inf TAP0901after copying tapinstall to the C:WindowsSystem32folder as mentioned earlier.Even though it retuned as 'Installation failed'Windows says the driver is working correctly when I look inDEVICE MANAGER.I hope this helps. Now I'm going to attempt to install the other parts for IPV6.The above line is in the comments lines of the .inf file as follows; INSTALL/REMOVE DRIVER; tapinstall install OemWin2k.inf TAP0901; tapinstall update OemWin2k.inf TAP0901; tapinstall remove TAP0901Regards,John

TAP Adapter On Windows 7 Is Erroneous

Hi again Jonathan,Sorry I typed your first name incorrectly last time.I also meant that the commandreturned 'INSTALLATION FAILED'but somehow DEVICE MANAGER states it is working. To check if you have 32 or 64 bit version of Windowssimply double click on SYSTEMin CONTROL PANEL and next to 'System type'it will show whether you are running 64 bit or the 32 bit version of Windows.Best regards,John
Hi,if you have a 64 bit system, the driver needs to be signed. This driver isnt signed, so you have to reeboot with tapping F8 F8 F8 until you see the Startup Settings. Choose Disable driver signature enforcement and after this you can install the driverThis solved my problem.Greetings Johannes
Or better: install the current driver as delivered by OpenVPN as that one is signed. No need to completely foil the security of your system...

This is NOT a list of tasks/processes taken from Task Manager orthe Close Program window (CTRL+ALT+DEL) but a list of startup applications, although you will find some of them listed via this method. Pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL identifies programsthat are currently running - not necessarily at startup. Therefore, before ending a task/process via CTRL+ALT+DEL just because it has an 'X' recommendation, please check whether it's in MSCONFIG or the registry first. An example would be 'svchost.exe' - which doesn't appear in either under normal conditions but does via CTRL+ALT+DEL.If in doubt, don't do anything.
